A 10-week part time course that is open to those who have attended previous courses (such as our beginners & improvers evening course) or have been in a number of university, college or amateur productions.
Aimed at those considering full time training and professional acting, this course will develop your acting skills by focusing on three key areas essential to working in the industry: Rehearsals, TV & Voice Over, and Audition technique.
The course will be delivered by senior teaching faculty at Drama Studio London, all of whom are working professionally in various aspects of theatre and media. Click here to see our faculty pages. You will have use of our facilities including our rehearsal spaces, the sound studio and screen acting studio.
Drama Studio London is based in Ealing, close to Central, District, Circle and main line stations. It is also well served by buses. Free parking is available.
A certificate of attendance will be issued if you attend 90% or more of the course.

A series of in depth sessions allowing time to fully explore and rehearse a scene, building towards an informal sharing at the end of the course. Including:
- Text analysis
- Creating a character
- Movement for actors
- Voice and Speech
- Rehearsal process

TV & Voice Overs
A series of classes to develop your media skills, including:
- Auditioning for Camera
- Voice Over technique.
A series of classes structured to develop the skills needed in a range of audition environments, including:
- What to expect at an audition
- Sight Reading
- Shakespeare Verse and Prose Speaking
- Choosing, preparing and presenting Classical audition speeches
- Choosing, preparing and presenting Modern audition speeches
- Being Directed
- Selling Yourself
- Mock Auditions
The course is intermediate level. There is no audition but applicants must have attended previous courses (such as our introductory level evening course) or have been in a number of university, college or amateur productions.
The course is designed to suit the following people:
- Those with previous experience looking to develop their skills in a committed, supportive environment.
- Actors who want to enter full time acting training and the profession.
- Those looking for a challenging and confidence building acting experience alongside regular full time work.
This course runs twice a year with February and September start dates on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday morning.
Course Dates: September - December 2017
Mondays & Wednesdays: 6.30pm - 9.30pm.
Saturdays: 10am till 1pm.
(Each session includes a short 10 minute break).

These fees relate to sterling transactions only. For non-sterling payments please add the equivalent of £20GBP to cover bank charges and administration costs.
Registration fee: £20 payable upon application. You must satisfy the entry requirements to be accepted onto the course. If you are not accepted the registration fee will be refunded.
Course fee: £1200 (inc.Vat)
Early Bird Discount if you sign up (pay full fee) 4 weeks or more before the course start date:
VAT will be charged in accordance with government legislation at the time of invoicing. Current rate is 20%.
If you withdraw earlier than 4 weeks before the course start date we will refund the course fee minus a £50 administration charge. The full fee is non-refundable if you withdraw within 4 weeks of the start date.
Drama Studio London is accredited by Drama UK so you can be sure you shall receive quality training with a professional stamp.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Must be able to demonstrate previous experience. For example:
- College or amateur productions
- Previous workshops or course (e.g. our Adult Evening Acting Beginners & Improvers Course)
- English Language MUST be strong enough for you to speak, read, write, listen and comprehend without the need for any class to slow down for you. As a guide you should be at IELTS level 4.5 or above/CEFR level B1 or above. If your English is not strong enough you will struggle on the course..
All applications should be made via our Online Application Form. Applications will close when all our places are filled.
No audition is required. Places are first come first served.
Please note: the course will only run on sufficient numbers and if cancelled by Drama Studio London all payments will be refunded.
There will be no cancellation refund if you withdraw after 8th of January 2016.
Upon application you will be asked to pay the registration fee. Your application will then be assessed and we will email you whether or not you have been accepted onto the course.
If you are accepted, the balance of the fee (full fee minus registration fee) will be due (we will email you payment instructions).
If you are not accepted the registration fee will be refunded.
