A Level Playing Field

Written and directed by Jonathan Guy Lewis
Performed by the BA in Professional Acting

Jonathan Lewis’ drama, taking place during a school exam isolation period, is an exploration of the pressures placed on 6th form students. The intense pressure of the exam period, and the oppressive confinement of isolation, reveals the turmoil of the students who contend with bullying, sexual confusions, pressure from social media and a constant battle between A*s and being too cool for school.

At the heart of this play is a deeply political exploration of the English schooling system as a factory, and education as nothing more than a commodity.
