A letter from Managing Director, Kit Thacker, in response to issues of discrimination at DSL

“Art is activism, intentional or not. While laws may prohibit people’s behaviour, art can change people’s hearts, minds and humanity.” [Wendell Pierce]

To be training actors for this activist’s world is a privilege, but also a responsibility. There have been times in the past when we at Drama Studio London have failed in our responsibilities and some people have been hurt.

This should never have happened and we apologise unreservedly to the individuals who have suffered in this way.

Changing a culture takes commitment, careful planning and an appreciation of the real benefits of the change for it to become embedded in the grain rather than be just a thin veneer.

Bear with us. Help us. We will get there.
