DSL Takes a Creative Approach to Remote Learning

Digital Theatre plus captureAll DSL trainee actors now have access to both the National Theatre archive online and Digital Theatre + platform as part of their studies.

In the dramatically changing landscape it is an essential part of the actors training to understand how recorded perfomance is now integral to the industry.

Like a version of Netflix for Theatre, the Digital Theatre + platform is a treasure trove of over 1000 performance productions, plus interviews, masterclasses and critical reflections on productions.

"This fantastic resource will serve to enhance the students' studies. We will be arranging evening discussions to talk about some of the exciting productions on offer. The platform provides so much to help deepen our understanding and appreciation of our industry," comments Emma Lucia Hands, Interim Head of DSL.

The site offers a broad range of productions from the classics to new writing alongside a host of contemporary theatre makers such as Gecko and Complicite.

The Digital Theatre + team sum it up:

“We want the range of content to reflect the diversity and excitement of contemporary theatre and performance around the world and to serve the needs of all our audiences.”
