2020 has seen seismic changes across the arts. More and more, actors are expected to engage with online platforms for everything from auditions to performances, and so DSL have been looking at how best to prepare actors for working online. Taking our new Introduction to Acting for Stage and Screen course online not only has the benefit of allowing actors to become familiar with, and have fun with learning, creating and collaborating online, it will make our training much more widely accessible.
If you’re interested but unsure if online training is for you, we have also created a Taster Session, which anyone can sign up to, to get a sense of what the experience will be. If you like it, you can then sign up to the full 10 week course, with the price of the Taster Session taken off the full fee.
We will, of course, continue to offer our on-site acting courses for Beginners and Intermediates, for those who are able and happy to attend in person.
Nothing can replace the live experience entirely and we wouldn't want it to but, in a world increasingly reliant on online platforms, building confidence in using these tools is invaluable; whether you are acting, leading corporate meetings or attending job interviews.
It also means that you can join us from wherever you are!
