It's Panto Week at Drama Studio London. Oh Yes It Is!

Panto Promo3 webDrama Studio London has a long tradition of performing festive shows for primary school children across Ealing.

“We assumed that we wouldn’t be performing Christmas shows this year and were sad that we would not be able to spread a little festive fun. Then to our surprise the phone began to ring. It was the schools requesting we deliver our December performances. The local children love the shows we produce and didn’t want to miss out,” says Interim Head of School, Emma Lucia Hands.

Sarah Mears, Deputy Head of Grange Primary School in Ealing concurs, "The children love having the pantomime visit each year as it feels like the official start to Christmas. The actors really engage with the children and they come away from the panto buzzing with excitement."

This year we are presenting Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Christmas Stories from Around the World and The Nutcracker at schools, to invited audiences at DSL and via live stream for friends and family.

“We all understand that Christmas can’t be the same this year, but it’s wonderful that DSL is able to carry on with this tradition. It’s a great opportunity for our actors to have lively and appreciative audiences,” adds Jonathan Kemp, Head of Acting.

Drama Studio London is now under the umbrella of the University of West London and the two are working together to build artistic collaborations across the community and these lively entertaining shows are aimed to inspire young children to enjoy the Performing Arts.
