We are delighted to announce that 1st Year MFA in Professional Acting student Olivia Merritt has been awarded the Sir John Gielgud Bursary Award.
This award commemorates the life and work of Sir John Gielgud who was the first patron of DSL.
Olivia said: ‘I want to thank the Sir John Gielgud Charitable Trust for choosing me to be given this amazingly generous bursary award. I want to thank my family who have supported me through all this, as well as my friends here and across the pond who have all been so amazing and brought me so much inspiration. I want to thank Drama Studio London and all the faculty who give me the courage and confidence to continue doing what I love – acting.’
Throughout the year, the DSL team nominate students for external bursaries. We choose actors who demonstrate exceptional talent and attitude to training and take personal circumstances into consideration. It’s a huge pleasure to share Olivia’s news and we all wish her the very best for her final year when we can look forward to her performances in the 2025 showcase and graduate season!
