Three graduates return to DSL

Harriet Honey ReeceHarriet Earle (2017), Reece Pantry (2018) and Honey Gabriel (2019) all have wide-ranging experience in stage, screen, audio and commercial work, so had plenty of wisdom to impart.

They were able to advise our graduating actors about the first few years out of drama school on practical ways to prepare. This included tips on organising expenses, completing tax returns and how to navigate the word of agents.

Some of the most valuable insights included the power of community and the importance of social media. All three graduates gained many of their jobs through word of mouth. According to them, the key is to make yourself known.

Harriet suggested that one of the best ways to do this is to constantly build your CV. She stressed the importance of creating opportunities for yourself by generating your own content and to keep creatively busy during lulls in professional work.

Honey ended the Q&A by reminding the students that this is a marathon and not a sprint and to enjoy themselves throughout the journey.
